StudyBuddy Kids Terms of Use
Terms version: terms-2026-05-11. Last updated: May 11, 2026.
Summary
These Terms govern use of StudyBuddy Kids by parents, legal guardians, and children using the service under parent supervision. They work together with our Privacy Policy.
1. Who may use StudyBuddy Kids
StudyBuddy Kids is an educational tutoring service for families. A parent or legal guardian must create and manage the family account.
Children under 13 may use the tutoring experience only after a parent or legal guardian gives the required parental consent. Parents remain responsible for supervising their child, choosing appropriate materials, and deciding whether StudyBuddy Kids is appropriate for the child.
2. Educational tool, not a school or professional service
StudyBuddy Kids provides AI-assisted tutoring, explanations, practice, and learning support. It is not a school, accredited curriculum provider, psychological service, medical service, legal service, or emergency service.
AI responses may be incomplete or incorrect. Parents should review important educational, safety, health, legal, financial, or disciplinary decisions with a qualified human professional.
3. Parent responsibilities
Parents are responsible for the accuracy of account information, child profile information, uploaded school materials, curriculum choices, and subject controls.
Parents must not upload content they do not have the right to use. Parents should avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive information, including medical records, government IDs, Social Security numbers, payment-card data, or other information not needed for tutoring.
Parents are responsible for protecting login credentials and for reviewing child activity when appropriate.
4. Child privacy and consent
StudyBuddy Kids is designed to operate with parental control. Our Privacy Policy explains what child data is collected, how it is used, which service providers may process it, how parents can export or delete it, and how retention works.
Parents may review, export, correct, or delete a child profile and related tutoring data from the parent dashboard. If a parent deletes a child profile or revokes consent, tutoring for that child may end because the profile and learning history are necessary to provide the service.
5. Uploaded content and license to operate the service
Parents keep ownership of materials they upload. By uploading materials, the parent gives StudyBuddy Kids permission to store, parse, index, and process the materials only as needed to provide tutoring, retrieval, safety, support, and service security.
StudyBuddy Kids does not sell child data or use child data for behaviorally targeted advertising.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use StudyBuddy Kids to violate the law, infringe someone else’s rights, bypass security controls, reverse engineer the service, abuse the AI system, upload malware, harass others, or submit unlawful or harmful content.
We may suspend or terminate access if an account is used in a way that creates legal, security, privacy, child-safety, or operational risk.
7. Payments, trials, cancellation, and changes
If paid plans are offered, pricing, trial length, billing frequency, cancellation rules, and refund terms will be shown at checkout or in the account area before purchase.
You may cancel according to the cancellation controls made available in the product or by contacting support. Some features may stop working after cancellation or nonpayment.
8. Availability and changes to the service
We may improve, modify, pause, or discontinue parts of StudyBuddy Kids. We work to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We may update these Terms. If changes materially affect how child data is collected, used, or disclosed, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain new consent where required.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
StudyBuddy Kids is provided as an educational support tool. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or error-free AI output.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyBuddy Kids and 12Brain Solutions are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for decisions made based on AI output without appropriate human review.
10. Contact
For privacy requests involving a child, contact privacy@12brain.com. For general support, contact hello@studybuddy.kids.
These Terms are intended as an operational baseline and should be reviewed by counsel before broad public launch.
